Haiphong port (port code: VNHPH / VNHAP) is a large natural harbour in Vietnam. It is located on the south side of the River Cam, a mouth of Song Thai Binh, 100 kilometers southeast of Hanoi.
This port handles approximately 12,000,000t of cargo and 680,000TEU annually. The main exports from this port are rice, maize, tin and other ores, cement and timber. The principal imports to this port include machinery, petroleum products, preserved goods and wines and spirits.
Each year about 2,000 vessels visit this port. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels, accounting for about 58%; fishing vessels, taking up around 18%; and tankers, taking a proportion of approximate 8%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 350 meters. The maximum draught is 11.8 meters. The maximum deadweight is 132,550t. |
